To introduce oneself on the record market with Liszt, of all things, takes quite a bit of courage and self-confidence. Alice Sara Ott dared to do it when she was just 19 years old. The audience at the CD players and in the concert halls reacted enthusiastically to the powerful and gripping manner of this delicate figure on the piano podium, who was able to breathe so much feminine elegance and lyricism into Liszt at the same time. When the pianist now accepts the invitation of the Alte Oper, she will once again be focusing on Liszt: his monumental B minor Sonata is one of the most technically and musically demanding works in the piano literature. Liszt dedicated his eccentric composition to his fellow composer Robert Schumann, with which he paid just as much respect to his important contemporary as he opened a door far into the future for the genre. Alice Sara Ott concludes a thoroughly romantic program with the magnificent sonata, which defies all preconceptions about the "salon lion" Franz Liszt.
