Novelist Alissa Walser has gathered notations on life in her latest volume
Eindividual Attempt at Seduction (Hanser).
Reflective narrative texts emerged from personal encounters or narratives by third parties, in which an attempt is made to give meaning to what is experienced. Some kind of meaning or moral of the story on how to behave in unpleasant, strange, or incidental situations is noted in addition.
One might call this volume a diary in which everything private is generalized. But since all incidents are so directly described, they seem to be true, and so the notations have also a philosophical note.
Recently published by Alissa Walser are the short story
Always Me (2011) and the aesthetics of her writing
Of the Animals in Noting (2015).
