In 2012, the band first starts as a project of drummer Robby Staebler and guitarist Ben McLeod, later joined by keyboardist Allan Van Cleave and singer/bassist Charles Michael Parks Jr. They are influenced by different directions, but they make All Them Witches what they are. The wide spectrum ranges from Pink Floyd and jazz, specifically Sun Ra, to Brian Eno and Boren & The Club Of Gore. Their first two albums, "Our Mother Electricity" (2012) and "Lightning At The Door" (2014), are snapshots of their onstage chemistry together. Yet the songs only serve as guideposts; the main focus is on the jam. They don't like playing the same piece the same way every night. Like jazz, there are scaffolds, and the rest is improvised. Singer and bassist Charles Michael Parks Jr. explains his band's approach this way: "We use every experience for us, our influence isn't just music, it's everyday life."
