2020 is the year of special Beatles anniversaries: 60 years earlier, the four young men named John, Paul, George and Ringo from Liverpool gave their first concert under the name "The Beatles". A decade followed in which the so-called "Fab Four" wrote music history and left hits for eternity. In the end, they split up, which will be celebrated for the 50th time next year. The musical biography "all you need is love!" brings the magic of this time back to the stage. The musical itself is also celebrating a milestone birthday. It is now 20 years since the premiere on the lake stage at Chiemsee.
The Beatles are still considered the most famous and successful band of all time. Although it is not the originals who appear in the musical produced by Bernhard Kurz, it is their perfectly rehearsed counterparts: the quartet "Twist & Shout" with Alan LeBoeuf as Paul McCartney, Howard Arthur (John Lennon), John Brosnan (George Harrison) and Carmine Francis Grippo (Ringo Starr). In "all you need is love! - The Beatles Musical," the original Las Vegas band resurrects the myth of the "Fab Four." In the musical, which is now going on tour again after a two-year break, the artists are not only convincing with their professional live singing. Their acting talent is also showcased in the recurring spoken episodes and short stories. Authentic costumes and historical video feeds make the illusion perfect and transport the audience back to the 60s.
The audience can relive that legendary decade, when the Beatles seemingly effortlessly churned out one global hit after another, driving the competition to sheer despair. The musical is divided into two acts. In the first part, the performers tell of the beginnings of the Beatles, who came to Hamburg in 1960 and first played there as an accompanying band in strip clubs and pubs, later gave their first concerts of their own and finally made their breakthrough in the USA.
In the second part, "Beatlemania" finally breaks out. The British band sells over 600 million records, brings their fans to ecstasy at performances and also sets new standards in fashion and lifestyle. At the height of their career, in 1970, the Beatles announce their separation after their last and world-famous concert on the roof of the record company in London. But the myth lives on to this day!
