Ally The Fiddle & Guests: Canterra "Ally The Fiddle" was founded in 2008 as a solo project by German fiddler and classically trained rock violinist Ally Storch. Initially conceived as an instrumental project, Ally's voice now adds another dimension to the music of "Ally the Fiddle". As of 2017, Ally now also plays a six-string electric violin and the band is enriched by the fascinating instrument Chapmanstick. "Ally The Fiddle" is dedicated to prog rock/metal, albeit not in its classical way, and puts the focus on the violin, or rather the dichotomy of guitar and violin. "What is special about the music of Ally the Fiddle is that the violin does not come along as an additional instrument with a special timbre, but is at the center of the compositions and the live performance. There have been bands with violinists in the past of prog rock music, that was also often interesting and good to listen to, but the violin often remained a foreign body or the pieces where the violin was really brought out what was possible, remained limited to a few songs.
With Ally and her band it is different, they deliver a unique music and live an impressive stage show. The fiddle as the central instrument of Ally-the-Fiddle is played with the highest skill, alternately combining the power of rock, the complexity of prog rock, the emotionality of folk rock and the hardness of metal. In the compositions, the violin is not lost as an ornamental accessory, but is THE central instrument, congenially combined with the classical instruments of rock music." - Gerd Weidemann Band Line Up:

.The Leipzig gothic metallers Canterra are the hard, velvety enchanting symbiosis of metal, gothic and rock and inspire live with their irrepressible energy and enchantingly catchy melodies. The stirring Canterran guitar sound forms the bed for the unique and unusually multifaceted voice of frontwoman Korinna. The sound is down-to-earth, metallic-earthy but playful at the same time. No two songs sound alike, yet all the works are united by a magical energy that simply has to be felt live and is rapidly enjoying a growing following.
In February 2016, Canterra released their long-awaited debut album 'First Escape', the production of which was supported by the Wacken Foundation, among others. The album features 12 songs, all of which are self-penned. The songs range from gothic rock bangers to complex metallic tracks and tender ballads. At the end 'First Escape' comes up with a German-language bonus track, which gives the debut work of the Leipzigers an unusual final note for the genre.
The Leipzig gloomy rockers were able to inspire Tilo Wolff, his sign Lacrimosa mastermind and creative heart of the scene for 25 years, of their work. Therefore, with the first album in the bag, they went on tour with the Gothic legends. Canterra can now join the illustrious company of renowned colleagues such as Lacuna Coil and Gothminister. The busy band from Leipzig, who have already spent some time on local stages with Lord of the Lost, Dornenreich and at the WGT, also supported genre greats Xandria and Crematory, Beyond The Black and Unzucht in the release year of "First Escape".
