Alphaville's album "Catching Rays On Giant" was released in 2010 and marked the start of an artistic reckoning for the band. "A fresh start, in terms of production conditions," Marian Gold said at the time. After all, they had been touring worldwide for the past few years. In 2014, Alphaville celebrated their 30th band anniversary with a celebrated concert in Paris. A glamorous spectrum from the early world hits "Big In Japan" and "Forever Young" to the brand new songs was offered to the fans who had travelled from all parts of the world. Countless concerts followed, from Scandinavia to South Africa, Mexico to Mongolia.
The result of this international journey was called "Strange Attractor". The band's eleventh studio album captured Alphaville's complex soundscapes in 14 new songs. Sometimes anthemic, sometimes restrained, Marian Gold, nucleus of the band, tells his idiosyncratic stories. An authentic statement far away from all retro waves. The first single release "Heartbreak City" immediately landed back in the charts.
Nfollowing Marian Gold's participation in the 5th season of the Pro 7 -format "Sing meinen Song - Das Tauschkonzert", the band is working on the next studio album "Thunderbaby", while worldwide touring continues. In addition to appearances across Europe, Alphaville will also perform in many cities in Germany as part of the "Forever Young" Tour 2019.
