Alteburger Markt in Idstein-Heftrich is one of the oldest markets in Germany. As early as the third century AD, there was a lively market activity at the Roman fort Alteburg. Today, the Kram- und Viehmarkt is a folk festival that is known and loved far beyond the city limits. With "Weck, Worscht, Ebbelwoi and beer" people meet here at the former Roman fort under the lime trees. And on three Thursdays a year - each after Whitsun, Jacobus and Bartholomäus.
