The most internationally successful dance company in the United States is giving guest performances in selected cities in German-speaking countries this ommer. The world-famous ensemble of over 30 dancers will be at the Alte Oper Frankfurt from August 29 to September 02.
A four-part evening featuring Alvin Ailey's masterpiece Revelations
All tour cities will focus on Alvin Ailey's masterpiece Revelations. The 1960 classic takes us deep into the American South, celebrating African-American heritage in images of timeless beauty and elegance. The company will present selections from its extensive repertoire in each of the cities in a four-part evening - in addition to Revelations, choreography by Robert Battle, Ronald K. Brown, Rennie Harris and Paul Taylor will be featured.

With outstanding agility and deep expressiveness, the more than 30 dancer personalities of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater move smoothly between styles, excelling as an ensemble and through individual perfection. Their dance spectrum ranges from modern dance to ballet and hip-hop. The company, which continues to honor the legacy of its founder Alvin Ailey, who died in 1989, under the artistic direction of Robert Battle, now counts more than 200 works by more than 80 choreographers in its repertoire.
