Martiste - a name that stands for atmosphere above all.
Founded as a trio in Hannover in 2014, the band initially trod rocky paths and drew inspiration from the music of the nineties. Besides influences like Radiohead or Nirvana, classical elements like strings and expansive pianos found their way into the band's early songs. After the first EP releases "My Sun" (2014) and "Hesitation" (2016), as well as concerts in the Hanover area, the musicians withdrew to reinvent themselves.
Anno 2017, Martiste is much more of a collective, appearing in both large and small lineups and incorporating more ambient influences into their music. In doing so, the band collaborates with producer Fabio Trentini (Guano Apes, Donots) to refine the new direction, for which both the Deftones and Boards of Canada are godfathers.
C309 - this is the name of the rehearsal room after which 5 musicians from Frankfurt have named themselves. They are characterized by innovative songwriting, sophisticated arrangements and rousing live performances. Due to their completed music studies (they are, or will be, all music teachers) they have technical know-how and convince with musical professionalism.
Their unique selling point among many bands is the combination of elements from rock, jazz and funk to progressive rock. This extraordinary mixture convinced jury and audience alike and brought them into the top 6 of the best bands of the Germany-wide SPH band contest: "From front to back coherent songs, everything precise to the point, little surprises for the attentive listener, ingenious vocals, harmonizing backing vocals, atmospheric and underscoring keyboard. Guys, wow. An incredible board, what was put down there! And not only that, but you can see the band having an incredible fun with it, which immediately transfers to the audience!"
Since 28.10.2016 their first studio album "Ready for the Outcry is available - as hardcopy or as digital link on iTunes.
