Folk-Rock / Indie-Pop / Acoustic Concert at HALLE
Over the course of three albums, sibling duo Angus And Julia Stone have managed to develop a songwriting style as catchy as it is distinctive, reflecting yearnings, an iridescent psychedelicism finding as much a place as intoxicating boy/girl harmonies, folky minimalism as much as the most epic moments of the great American songbook with the wide skies of the prairie arching overhead. Elsewhere they've been called the Australian answer to Dresden Dolls or Fierce Furnaces, compared to Lee Hazelwood/Nancy Sinatra, or billed as a cross between Al Stewart and Leslie Feist. All just inadequate determinations to do justice to this brilliant duo. Now the pair are poised to release their fourth album, Snow, for which - as last time - star producer Rick Rubin was at the controls. The evening is completed by Isaac Gracie.
