There are constants in the wonderfully eventful singing life that has catapulted Anna Prohaska to the top of the career ladder in such a breathtakingly short time: Baroque music is the name of one of these constants, and her voice, with its clear yet warm timbre, is tailor-made for it. Among the baroque masters, Johann Sebastian Bach also occupies a special place for Anna Prohaska: "Bach is head and heart," she recently confessed. At the centre of the finale: the cantata "Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen", whose virtuosity and festivity stand out even from Bach's impressive cantata oeuvre. Anna Prohaska's slender soprano, which she knows how to conduct with such refreshing straightforwardness, is predestined to savour the lightly sparkling coloratura in Bach's virtuoso solo part.
