On June 16, the U.S. Army Garrison Wiesbaden, in cooperation with the State of Hesse, is hosting a special celebration to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the end of the Berlin Airlift. Sunday's event begins at 9:30 a.m. and ends at 8 p.m.

On June 15 and 16, the U.S. Army Garrison Wiesbaden, in cooperation with the State of Hesse, is hosting a special celebration to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the end of the Berlin Airlift. The event on Sunday begins at 9:30 a.m. and ends at 8:00 p.m.

Historic aircraft from the Berlin Airlift era and modern U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force aircraft will be on display and available for viewing.

Highlight for the kids is the Candy Drop. In memory of the Berlin Airlift, historic airplanes drop tiny parachutes with sweets over the Clay Kaserne - a tribute to the so-called candy bombers.

Important information for visitors: Dogs are not permitted on the festival grounds and there are hardly any shaded areas. Glass containers, alcoholic beverages, weapons and other dangerous objects are prohibited. The grounds are non-smoking.

How to get there: Visitors can only get to the festival on foot, by bike, shuttle bus or regular bus services. There are no parking spaces available at the Clay Kaserne for motorized private transport.
