Antonia Baehr has been delighting international audiences with her choreographies for over 15 years. From Baehr's own point of view, however, her work is based on a paradox. She is described as a choreographer, but has not yet developed a dance piece. With Normal Dance, Baehr puts an end to this apparent contradiction. For this she invites Mirjam Junker and Pia Thilmann, two friends who are similar to her in many ways. All three embody a feminine masculinity: strong grip, firm stance, strength, calibre. The three butches throw themselves onto the stage with great relish and risk-taking, exploring the rhetoric of contemporary dance. They are guided by a thought from the American writer Getrude Stein: "You make yourself ridiculous when you dance. You make yourself ridiculous when you don't dance. So you might as well dance.".
