CHINESE CULTURE TO SEE, TO TOUCH, TO FEEL, TO SENSE AND TO TASTE
Fascinating and yet so foreign, the Chinese culture. A guqin player and guqin maker, tea masters, incense masters, philosophers and artists, and tea farmers offer Chinese atmosphere and aesthetics up close in a series of events: culture to see, hear, feel, and taste!
After a history of ideas of Chinese culture, there will be an introduction to aspects of tea culture, ceramics, music, and incense culture. Wang Peng, currently the most famous and popular guqin player, will present his art of qin dao and take guests into the mysterious sound world and aesthetics of guqin in several performances. Sun Liang, Chinese expert of incense culture, invites guests to discover the millennia-old history of xiang dao, long forgotten.
Tea has left its mark on all aspects of Chinese culture. Various tea masters will shed light on the history and aspects of Chinese tea culture: Lectures and tea ceremonies will bring to life the history from the Chinese proto-Kaisers, through the Tang and Song dynasties, the Ming and Qing periods, to the renaissance of Chinese tea culture cha dao.
