The past stored within us and the future we think we can expect - this is the stuff of which we write the story of our lives. To explore it, Wayne McGregor, one of the world's preeminent choreographers for 25 years, moves through space and time. To explore physical perception, he seeks allies from a variety of artistic and scientific fields. In Autobiography, McGregor focuses his attention entirely on the idea of the body as archive. To this end, he had his genome decoded and created 23 scenes corresponding to his chromosome pairs. The result is a meditation on the multiplicity of life paths. And it is so overwhelming that a critic of the Süddeutsche Zeitung saw in it "stardust" - a "synthesis of the arts of movement, light, music and space. A dance mosaic overwhelming with sheer beauty and sensual magic". Classical ballet figures and highly sophisticated movements to the electronic beats of Jlin combine to create a grand tableau and tell - life!
