"Bauhaus tanzt" is an interdisciplinary dance performance based on the aesthetics of Oskar Schlemmer and the ideas of the Bauhaus. These are juxtaposed with the sound world of John Cage. However, the material is viewed through a contemporary lens, creating a work that develops a language of its own. A surrealist spectacle of shapes, colors and sounds. The starting point for the genre-bending performance "Bauhaus dances" is Oskar Schlemmer's Triadic Ballet from 1922. PUC (Pop-Up Collective), an international ensemble of soloists which mainly performs contemporary musical works, uses the Bauhaus world of ideas to explore questions of aesthetics, perception, standardisation and space for individual freedom. In doing so, the original focus of making space tangible is expanded through interpretive means. Clear, reduced, architectural composition is interrupted and complemented by organic chaos, the neutral body individualized by characteristic attribution. Underscored by John Cage's Sonatas and Interludes for prepared piano, this creates a haunting dance piece.
