Bauhaus artist Wassily Kandinsky's 1928 stage adaptation of Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition created a whole new kind of abstract, moving painting. This meets Torsten Blume's production Formensport in the form of a visual reconstruction by Karoline Hofmann. Inspired by Kurt Schmidt's Mechanical Ballet, one of the most innovative ballet pieces of the 20th century, in which the principle of the machine is transferred to dance, Blume transfers Schmidt's innovative, creative ideas into today.
In the context of the BAUWHAT?Festival.
