As part of the event series "Ancient Techniques" will take place on the weekend 30./31. March 2019 from 9 to 16 clock in the Roman fort Saalburg in Bad Homburg, the two-day course "Beautiful ribbons and braids" for adults and young people (from 14 years) takes place.
In this two-day course for beginners and participants with previous knowledge, you will learn an ingenious weaving system in which the warp threads run through a certain number of 4-hole boards. In addition to making a belt using different techniques and patterns, participants will learn exciting and interesting facts about the everyday life of the Romans during a guided tour of the fort. You may feel a bit like a Roman or Romaness during a fitting of Roman costume.
