"Beggars Banquet", the Rolling Stones' seventh studio album, is considered one of the best rock albums in pop history and marked a turning point and new beginning for the Rolling Stones. After the psychedelically oriented predecessor album "Their Satanic Majesties Request", which caused a lot of criticism among the Stones' followers as well as the trade press, the Stones stylistically returned to their origins of blues, folk and roots rock. The influence of the previously still leading Stones guitarist Brian Jones, who increasingly suffered from drug abuse, tended towards zero. The songwriting duo Mick Jagger/Keith Richards took the lead and presented themselves in top form with outstanding song compositions like "Sympathy For The Devil", "Streetfighting Man", "Stray Cat Blues", etc.
"Beggars Banquet" was released in December 1968, reason enough to pay tribute to the complete song cycle of the album in an "unplugged/stripped-down" version with the Stones tribute band GLITTER TWINS. Connoisseurs count GLITTER TWINS among the most competent Stones tribute bands in Europe.
Music journalist and radio host Volker Rebell complements the concert with a reading/introduction on the basic theme, special features and background stories of the "Beggars Banquet". Accompanying the concert, there will be a photo/graphics exhibition in the Factory Gallery - of course with photos of the Rolling Stones from the "Beggars Banquet" era, artistically edited by Gerd Coordes.
