March saw the release of Bernadette la Hengst's new album, We Are the Many, which on the one hand brings together her many projects on stage and in theaters, as well as her travels (China, Spain, Morocco, Syria.).

On the other hand, the title alone makes it clear, it is her further reference to what is happening around us socio-politically. With some other musicians or bands, we might find it a bit of an effort to jump on a theme that is just booming - in this case, the counter-movement to the rampant racist, völkisch offensive. As divided as "the Germans"may be regarding a shutdown against flight or migration, anti-AfD statements are ultimately consensus among large parts of the population.

So why call a record that? Well - we give credit: Bernadette La Hengst has probably always been about making the world a better place. About saving the world with more than just melodies: from swinging pop songs to freaky Krautbeat to electronic Lovers Soul. From funk, folk and punk to rap and electro-dub. But also with a message: "Bernadette La Hengst combines point of view and revolt with disco and fun".

Yes! And so it was no coincidence that she contributed I Am An Island 2017, the official song for the World Climate Change Conference (whose video, made with 400 kids, you should click, by the way!). Oh, and she was also recently recognized with the Keychange Inspiration Award.

All's well, then, if this musician calls her record like a demo. What remains may be the objection of those who point out, regarding "We Are The Many", that political battles are not about which opinion is the most popular - think of the transfer of power to the Nazis. So be's sake - enjoy a fulminant front sow whose shows have madness and sweat sparkling conspiratorially. Ecstasy With An Attitude! Alerta, Alerta, Anti-Fascista! Bernadette La Hengst!
