After outstanding concerts in spring 2018, a sold-out Hamburg Elbphilharmonie and overwhelming critical acclaim, Bernd Begemann and Kai Dorenkamp will embark on their final "Die Stadt und das Mädchen" tour in early 2019.
This is the last chance to experience the "pioneer of German-language indie pop" (Deutschlandfunk Kultur) Bernd Begemann and "Die Befreiung" keyboardist Kai Dorenkamp live together with their romantic song cycle and current album.
"Die Stadt & das Mädchen" (The City & the Girl) follows the major thematic theme of setting out, leaving, being a stranger, being alone, starting over from the perspective of a young woman. Bernd Begemann has chosen songs from three decades of musical work and arranged them with Kai Dorenkamp in a minimalistic version. The live performances of the two musicians are epochal, despite minimal instrumentation. Sometimes a great story needs no more than two men, a voice and a piano.
