The author of "The Reader" with a novel about love, progressiveness and delusions of grandeur
.In his novel "Olga" (Diogenes Verlag), the writer and lawyer Bernhard Schlink tells the story of a strong, clever and progressive woman in the early decades of the 20th century. Century. And we read about a woman who "grows almost inexorably close to the heart not only of the narrator Ferdinand, but also of the readers", as the critic Helmut Böttiger stated in the Süddeutsche Zeitung. Olga has to witness how not only her lover, but an entire nation loses touch with reality. For her, these experiences result in the question of her life: Why do Germans think too big? The conversation with the much-appreciated and widely translated author will be led by Cécile Schortmann - known again from TV formats such as "Kulturzeit" (3sat) and "Hauptsache Kultur" (hr).
