The most beautiful architecture books of the last ten years
The DAM Architectural Book Award presents the most beautiful architecture books of the current worldwide production every year at the book fair. This autumn, DAM is presenting all the books that have won awards so far together, thus enabling an overall view of today's architectural book market.
All art and architectural book publishers from Germany and abroad are invited to participate. A rotating jury of experts consisting of representatives of the Deutsches Architekturmuseum as well as external experts will evaluate the entries according to criteria such as design, conception of content, quality of materials and workmanship, degree of innovation, and topicality.
Even in an age of growing competition from new media and communication possibilities, the architecture book continues to be the focus of architectural education. Thus, the primary goal of the DAM Architectural Book Award is to determine the best architectural books of the current vintage, to award them, and to present them to an interested public. As an honorary prize, it is not endowed with a sum of money. The winning publications are presented at the book fair.
In 2009, the DAM Architectural Book Award was offered for the first time and has since experienced a steadily growing worldwide response. This year's Architectural Book Award is also deliberately aimed at an international field of participants.
