Bad was yesterday. Today, the English word "bad" means something like "cool" - which is what Rasta Thomas was referring to when he called his dancers "Bad Boys of Dance": Cool guys who just got it. Ballet should be as sexy and entertaining as a pop concert, for a young audience. And so Rasta Thomas and his "Bad Boys of Dance" mix up the scene - "Rock the Ballet" redefined classical dance. On 23 January 2017, the multimedia dance performance "Best of Rock the Ballet" can be experienced for the first time at the Alte Oper Frankfurt.
World-class dancers move to rock and pop songs in front of exciting video projections. Since 2008, the multimedia dance performance "Rock the Ballet" and "Rock the Ballet 2" has toured on four continents - some one million fans have seen the show in more than 750 performances in more than 20 states. "Rock the Ballet" - ballet at its highest level, enriched with hip-hop and modern dance, martial arts and ballroom dancing - was invented by husband-and-wife team Rasta Thomas and Adrienne Canterna; he directs the troupe, she choreographs, and has done so successfully for six years.
