In the 80s - when the nights didn't end, the Cold War clanged and (West)-Berlin danced senselessly on the volcano, they were at the start: the singers/songwriters Bettina Köster (Malaria!, Matador, Mania D.) and Mona Mur (with troupe of the same name) set the heartbeat with excessive-existentialist underground anthems in morbid slow beat chic.
To this day, both are internationally active and respected as self-sufficient musical personalities.
Bettina Köster is the singer of the fabulous Berlin noise band Malaria! then she falls for New York, crawls through Burmese jungles, wins awards for screenplays and conjures up some music from time to time. And today? Succumbing to music alone: Voilà- Colonel Silvertop. From where? Kösters "Cold Clear Water", "Your Turn to Run" international indie hits, Malaria! her eighties band. "Hildegard-Knef of punk rock", and called "Queen of Noise" (by John Peel himself).
Mona Mur, "Iron Maiden of Bloody Passions", writes during the punk explosion with her eponymous band (et al.FM Einheit, Alex Hacke and Marc Chung from Einstürzende Neubauten) underground hits like "120 Tage", "Eintagsfliegen" or "Snake", sings Brecht in legendary brute versions of "Surabaya Johnny" and der" Ballade vom Ertrunkenen Mädchen". Later she collaborates with Dieter Meier, sings with symphony orchestras in Poland, becomes a music producer in her own studio and tours with En Esch in the USA, Canada and Europe. Her soundscapes shape computer games like "Kane & Lynch2:Dog Days".
In the fall of 2017, Bettina's latest album "Kolonel Silvertop" was released on PALE MUSIC, Mona Mur's new work "Stiefel im Wind" produced together with Ralf Goldkind, will be released in 2018. Now Köster and Mur have teamed up for the first time for some double concerts. On board are expected: exKMFDM - frontman En Esch as well as drummer Klaus Krüger (Iggy Pop, Tangerine Dream)
