Involuntarily leaving a life behind and setting out into an uncertain future is tantamount to disaster. Far from home, family and friendships, but also far from the violence of war - artist Bissane Al Charif, who grew up in Syria, had this experience when she left for France, initially for a family matter, only to be rushed to stay. Since then, she has been working on the theme of migration and flight. Her installation uses sound clips, films and photographs to document the stories of eight women displaced from Syria. The women recall their journey, talk about things they brought with them or had to leave behind. They also talk about the rift that has defined their lives ever since.
