Excuse me? Bonaparte at the biennial? The bearded commie punks from the slaughterhouse are going to the city's high-culture shrine to saints, the State Theatre's big house? Is the Kaiser's Wilhelmine spirit to be exorcised from the city here? Outrageous! Well, the Biennale 2016 is entitled "This is not Europe". Not only does it dare to bring this musical project by the Swiss Tobias Jundt alias Bonaparte, which is always provocative and theatrically staged as well as excessively danceable, into the baroque hall full of red plush chairs. No, the rest of the programme has it all too. We are curious to see what reactions this program, which certainly explores boundaries, will provoke in the emperor's favorite spa town. Sounds like discourse, indignation, enthusiasm. Wonderful. Bonaparte couldn't be better placed. Especially since no one knows exactly how many musicians, dancers, fire-eaters or whatever will board the stage. And to be honest, we don't know if the plush chairs are comfortable enough to keep everyone in their seats. Especially since neither Bonaparte nor the Biennale is about comfort
