Bornheim originated around the year 500 and looks back on a long exciting history. However, the Günthersburgpark area was settled much earlier, as evidenced by the remains of a Roman villa dating back to 110 AD.
Bornheim is an active district and has a large number of clubs. The Vereinsring Bornheim is the umbrella organization of 74 clubs that organize and equip the Christmas market.
