Why Breakin' News? The jazz rock band with a difference. Not one of those standard jazz bands these days, performing as a trio and interpreting jazz standards with the lineup of acoustic piano, upright bass and drums. To put it polemically: This is very economical thinking, you hardly have to transport any equipment, everyone knows the standards you want to play, and therefore you don't have to rehearse much together. But mind you: Every musician is free to play in a trio with this instrumentation. And at times this music is great, even breathtaking. Go ahead and do your thing baby, but it wasn't our thing! It didn't appeal to us. Our music: jazz rock, original compositions & more. They play the music they have the strongest musical connection to and that we grew up with: jazz rock.
