"Lummerland is too small once Jim Knopf grows up!" at least that's what King Alfons, the fourth-before-twelfth, fears and demands that Luke the locomotive driver get rid of his beloved locomotive Emma. As a true locomotive driver, Luke naturally cannot bring himself to do this and decides to leave Lummerland. His friend Jim Knopf joins them in their secret escape. When they reach China, carried by the ocean current, they learn that the Emperor's daughter, Princess Li Si, has been kidnapped by a dragon and is now trapped in Cummerland, in the Dragon City. Without hesitation, Luke and Jim agree to go on the adventure with their Emma and free the princess. On their way through the desert "The End of the World" they meet the illusory giant Mr. Tur Tur and in the volcano country the half-dragon Nepomuk. He thinks it is impossible for Luke and Jim to enter the dragon city, because only real dragons are allowed there. They disguise Emma as a dragon and thus get inside the city and into the school of the dragon Mrs. Mahlzahn. Bravely, Jim and Luke defeat the dragon and free Princess Li Si and the other children from Cummerland. With the bound dragon in their luggage, they all travel back to China, where Mrs. Molar begins to transform into a golden dragon. Being very clever, the dragon knows a solution to the space problem on Lummerland. By attaching a floating island to Lummerland, there is enough room for everyone and Luke, Jim and Emma can finally return home." (Burgfestspiele Bad Vilbel)
