There he is, lying on the beach of a desert island. An older gentleman in a tuxedo, a small bottle of champagne in his pocket. How does he get here? Waking up, he talks to himself. Talks about pastrami, fried eggs and gin and tonic. But the island is not entirely deserted. A young woman creeps up. A native? And now?
Slowly a kind of communication develops ("I Wolfgang, you Jane. Haste verstanden?"), which however does not lead far ("Humor verstehste also nicht. Das kann ja heiter werden"). At some point it turns out that the gentleman, a retired industrial magnate, was on a luxury cruise with his wife and went overboard during the captain's dinner with considerable sloppiness. And her? A native she is not, that soon becomes clear. But what else is she doing all alone on this godforsaken island?
Another one of those countless "old man meets young woman" plays that all somehow end the same way, which you suspect after only ten minutes? No. A gentle yet highly amusing study of powerful men growing older and young women's career aspirations. Using the example of two lost men on a paradisiacal island. And you don't find out how it ends until the very end.
