"French Touch": Treasures of a sentimental journey
Pop classics and milestones of her career Intimacy and quality merge in Carla Bruni's mystical melange with which she captivates people. Her fifth studio album, "French Touch," gives the enigmatic, likeable star cause for a few select concerts. "French Touch" denotes the special feeling, the French way Carla Bruni interprets a surprising selection of cover songs: seemingly effortless elegance, a touch of eroticism and gentle charm. By her own admission, these are "the personal treasures of a sentimental journey into her own past." Pop classics like Depeche Mode's "Enjoy the Silence," Lou Reed's "A Perfect Day" or "Miss You" by the Rolling Stones and evergreens like "Moon River, Lover Hurts" as well as "Crazy" blend into a round dance for which the motto is "love at first sight." Who knew Carla Bruni was an AC/DC fan!
But her cover of "Highway to Hell" is an exclamation point, which she comments, "Who wants to go to heaven?" comments. Producer legend David Foster provided perfect arrangements and mixing. The covers have retained their original appeal, despite their individual sensuality. It almost seems as if Bruni and Foster wrote them themselves. Born in Turin, the daughter of an industrialist and a concert pianist, Carla Bruni has lived in France since the age of five. At 19, she began her meteoric rise to become one of the world's most sought-after models.
For eleven years until 1998, she was considered the toast of fashion, whether on runways or covers. Text source and more info on this event: http://www.jahrhunderthalle.de/programm/kalender/carla-bruni/06-12-2017-20-00.aspx
