Axel Schlosser has not only gained an excellent reputation as an instrumentalist and pedagogue over the years, he is also a composer and arranger himself for chamber music and large orchestral projects as well as a leader of his own formations and a sought-after guest soloist. With the quartet, which has been tried and tested over many years, he presents compositions from the repertoire of the two giants Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington.
Louis Armstrong enjoyed playing Duke Ellington's compositions, the "Duke" even composed music to portray "Satchmo". Both familiar works and some rarely played rarities can be heard - all presented in a contemporary setting.
