Traditional Latin American folklore meets contemporary electronica: Argentine trio Chancha Via Circuito is one of a new generation of South American musicians mixing folkloric sounds with electronic beats. Chancha Via Circuito is the project of producer Pedro Canale, who started out in 2005 with Digital Cumbia, discovering and experimenting with new worlds of sound through travels in South America. Argentine folklore, Colombian or Peruvian cumbia are mixed with electronica, acoustic instruments and vocals to create a new sound. Some may be familiar with the Chancha Via Circuito remix of "Quimey Neuquén" by renowned Argentine folklore singer José Larralde, which was chosen for the Breaking Bad soundtrack in 2013.
