The Colombian-Argentinean band Che Sudaka was founded in 2002 in the Mediterranean port city of Barcelona and has been touring the globe without interruption ever since. Their sound is authentic and recognizable, a mix of Latin folklore, Jamaican rhythms, punk attitude and the electronic toys of a sound system. Four brothers who stop time with accordion, acoustic and electric guitars, sampler and drum computer and an inexhaustible positive energy. Every concert is a sweaty fiesta in the here and now, a moment of unity and togetherness, respect and love. That's what Che Sudaka stands for. It's what the band is loved for around the world. Once illegal immigrants on the streets of Barcelona, they have been invited to festivals in forty-seven countries and have now played around one and a half thousand concerts on all five continents. In addition to their own cultura popular, the four South Americans find their musical roots in legendary bands such as The Clash, Mano Negra and Los Fabulosos Cadillacs. Content-related reference points can be found to well-known Latin American singer-songwriters, first and foremost Facundo Cabral. The title of their latest album sums up, as hardly any other, the essence of Che Sudaka: "Almas Rebeldes" (in German: Rebellious Souls). With 15 great tracks and many guests, including Manu Chao, El Gran Silencio, Dr.Ring Ding, Jupiter & The Okwess, Amparo Sanchez or Bnegao, the album brings every party to a boil and at the same time makes you think about the state of the world and our human nature. Combining exuberant energy on stage with profound social and self-critical lyrics, the band's motto is "Bailar pensando!" ("Dance and think"). Che Sudaka has thus grown into the figurehead of a new attitude towards life and cultural counter-movement, the link of a globally networked family. Che Sudaka is a band with a mission, a band that sees itself as a medium for collective consciousness. Music becomes a weapon in a non-violent struggle for a society of solidarity. Music is the means to an end, the universally understandable language for their messages. Seventeen years of Che Sudaka are seventeen years of a constant (r)evolution of thoughts and feelings, of a positive and collective energy, of a global movement that more and more "Almas Rebeldes" are joining!
