On the eve of the invasion of Iraq by British and American troops on March 21, 2003, Japan decides to participate in the invasion. It is the country's first, highly controversial military deployment since 1945. Against the backdrop of a peace demonstration of historic proportions, the young adults in "Five Days in March" tell personal everyday stories from Tokyo. Japanese theatre-maker Toshiki Okada (most recently with "Time's Journey Through a Room" at the Mousonturm) is working on a new version of his own production, which helped him achieve his international breakthrough 12 years ago. His choreographic-minimalist theatrical language suspends the logical relationship between language and movement and resembles a tightrope act between naturalness and artificiality. The youth of today appear disoriented, their participation in the demonstration at odds with their personal needs.
