CHILDREN UNDER 3 YEARS AND CHILDREN'S ART CLUB MEMBERS: FREE ADMISSION
On Saturday, November 18, 2017, from 4 to 9 p.m., the Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt once again belongs
to children. Then 4 to 10-year-olds are invited together with their parents and grandparents to the 16th Children's Art Night in the current exhibitions. In "Diorama. Invention of an Illusion", the young visitors can move through a mysterious world between reality and illusion: they will experience a volcanic eruption, discover wild animals and learn how 100 years ago glass display cases were used to bring world knowledge to life in the museum. A special highlight will be the Diorama Show, which brings themes from the exhibition to the stage and offers entertaining entertainment for the whole family. In a varied workshop programme, children can put their observations into practice themselves: Shape animals out of clay, design dioramas in a box or create masks and emboss light pictures.
In the exhibition "Glory and Misery in the Weimar Republic", young visitors will embark on an exciting journey through time and art in Germany from 1918 to 1933. Aspects of the exhibition will be imaginatively staged by the Junge Schauspiel Frankfurt and presented in play with the audience
. In thematically related workshops, the children can deal with their impressions in a creative way and, for example, create their own pictures of cityscapes, street scenes and motifs from sport and leisure in the printing street. The MINISCHIRN, the Schirn's permanent play and learning course, will also be open during the Children's Art Night: In smaller groups, children from the age of 3 can explore the MINISCHIRN with their parents and get to the bottom of aesthetic phenomena. The stay is limited in time during the Children's Art Night.
From 5 p.m., the SCHIRN CAFÉ the children's disco with DJ Gregor Praml invites you to dance and party. The BADIAS Catering team will be providing delicious snacks and drinks throughout the entire Kinderkunstnacht
