Circus magic of the very special magical kind awaits you in Wiesbaden: Cirque Bouffon is coming back to the state capital with its new program LUNATIQUE. And what awaits the visitors under the dark blue dome in the white chapiteau, charmingly furnished with small antiquated details, is truly magical: Here begins a journey through a fantastic, dream-filled, poetic night. A moonstruck sleepwalker staggers drowsily from scene to scene and holds the turbulent events together like a red thread. The ropes from the dome appear like threads of light, on which Charlotte de la Bretéque and her colleagues dressed in delicate elfin white demonstrate the high school of acrobatics. Clown and mime Gregor Wollny makes the audience laugh with absurd humour without any words.
It creates delightful little moments. The power of the show lies in the amazing simplicity of many small moments. Everyone's heart is touched here. Acrobatics to hold your breath are presented by the Norwegian Christ Pettersen. He jumps light-footed over a thin rope with a goldfish bowl and together with the Swiss Mara Aline Zoe he thrills the audience on a rapidly rotating ladder. The dreamlike, intoxicating nocturnal circus journey is accompanied by the mystical, magical music of musical director and double bass player Sergej Sweschinskij. Lunatique is more than a dream.
Cirque Bouffon was founded in 1999 by Frédéric Zipperlin and Anja Krips. After the first years with vaudeville acts, the first big Bouffon show followed in 2005/2006. As a former member of the world famous Cirque du Soleil, Frédéric Zipperlin realizes with his company Cirque Bouffon a new kind of artistic theatre with the philosophy of the French Nouveau Cirque. With elements of artistic circus, comedy, music, theatre and dance, a very unique aesthetic synthesis of the arts is created. A story that takes the audience into the parallel world of the "Bouffon" of charm and gruffness and captivates them with amazing images full of touching poetry.
