Groundbreaking arena spectacular "TORUK - The First Flight" Inspired by James Cameron's Avatar
Inspired by James Cameron's groundbreaking film AVATAR, Cirque du Soleil presents its new masterpiece "TORUK - The First Flight." With a captivating fusion of acrobatics, cinematic projections, puppetry and stage dramaturgy, the audience is transported into an imaginary cosmos. Two artistic visions unite in TORUK, supported by a rousing soundtrack, to create a magical formula that captivates the viewer. "TORUK - The First Flight" makes guest appearances in Hamburg, Cologne, Berlin and Frankfurt between October 4 and December 2.
The innovative arena spectacle transports the audience to the distant world of Pandora, where the action takes place millennia before the events depicted in AVATAR. A narrator of the Na'vi people tells of an impending natural disaster that threatens the sacred Tree of Souls. Two fearless boys set out to find the flying mythical predator TORUK in the floating mountains. According to legend, the Tree of Life and the Na'vi can be saved if a "pure soul" of the tribe rides TORUK.
"TORUK - The First Flight" provides an entirely new perspective in the symbiosis of Cirque du Soleil's signature style and the imaginary world of James Cameron. An overwhelming flood of images, unforgettable characters and puppets as well as acrobatic mastery combine to create an ingenious live experience that pushes the boundaries of imagination. The distinctive signature of directors and multimedia innovators Michele Lemieux and Victor Pilon has contributed to this. "TORUK - The First Flight" casts Cirque Du Soleil in a whole new light.
