The guided tour offers participants a look at the highlights of the permanent exhibition "Frankfurter Sammler und Stifter". With 12 individually presented collections, the exhibition offers a wide-ranging overview of the spectrum of bourgeois collecting in Frankfurt from the 18th to the 20th century. Among the Frankfurt bourgeoisie, both collecting and membership in scientific societies were widespread forms of personal commitment. For example, the "Morgenstern'sche Miniaturkabinett" (1796-1843) of the painters and restorers Johann Ludwig Ernst and Johann Friedrich Morgenstern is also on display. Located in the historically most important parts of the museum, the exhibition is also architecturally and scenographically deliberately designed to experience the traces of the changing architectural history from the Staufer period to historicism.
