.Amber Rose (vocals, acoustic guitar, ukulele), Jess Rae Ayre (vocals, acoustic guitar, harmonica) and Michelle Anderson (vocals, electric guitar, banjo) have given their latest album the title "Walking In The Dark". In the title song Amber Rose processes the death of her mother. Melancholy isn't a consistent feature in the Winnipeg trio's music, but emotionally Sweet Alibi always want their songs to be, whether happy or sad. "They have to really mean something to us and to the listener," the three wish. Fellow critics in Canada wrote of Sweet Amber's songwriting that it was "short and catchy", well produced, far from unconventional, but full of little details that make the album interesting after all. The result is appealing pop music that has its roots in folk and roots music and sounds very soulful. This encouraged CBC Radio 2 host Tom Power to use a flowery description of the music: "If Mumford and Sons and the Supremes fathered a love child, I think you'd have to call it Sweet Alibi." Then, when Sweet Alibi rock, Fleetwood Mac may well suggest themselves as a possible comparison.
