The Neumeyer Consort was founded in 2007 with the aim of making the liveliness and versatility of baroque music audible in different instrumentation possibilities. Thus, depending on the concert program, the variety of instrumentation ranges from a large baroque orchestra to a chamber music formation.
1725/26 Telemann's first cantata volume "Der Harmonische Gottesdienst" appeared in print - and this cantata volume was not for a large ensemble with soloists, choir and orchestra, but in chamber music form for one singing voice, one melody instrument and basso continuo.
In the years that followed, Telemann also composed several cycles for chamber music under the title "Moralische Kantaten" (Moral Cantatas), in which he set secular themes to music.
For the Telemann jubilee year 2017, soprano cantatas will be heard, which will be linked with various Telemann solo instruments and given a very special form by weaving in Telemann chamber music movements as sinfoniae and instrumental "arias".
