Two Swiss with Hungarian roots: Gábor Varga and József Trefeli have created a surprising performance about origins, full of crazy energy, self-irony and with a dash of Dada in the costumes. Starting from Hungarian folk dance with its classical dance accessories like sticks, whips and masks, they span the arc from archaic exoticism to the movement diversity of contemporary dance. "Fakelore" is what Varga and Trefeli call their spirited choreographic play with set pieces. A method that obviously sparks a lot of fun and passion - and that is infectious! Creature was awarded the Swiss Dance Prize 2017 in the Contemporary Dance category as one of the outstanding works of the season.
