During three days at the end of August, the "creole_ summer" reigns again in the dike town. This urban event series aims to be a reflection of today's multicultural society, its music thriving on the creative blending of diverse influences. It thus shows how seemingly foreign things can not only harmonize with each other, but create something new. "creole_sommer": this is a celebration for people and musicians under the sign of lived cultural diversity.

From August 24 to 26, the magnificent Goethe facilities on the banks of the Rhine will see three concerts with musicians from many different countries. They serve up Finnish tango, ukulele music and gypsy jazz in the shadow of the Raiffeisen Bridge and the Pegelturm - all with free admission.

To conclude the "creole_sommer" triad, the Marion & Sobo Band, an international ensemble from Bonn, will travel to the festival on Sunday, August 26, 1 pm. The group combines elements of world music and jazz with chanson to create a modern gypsy jazz of its own. The quintet around the Franco-American singer Marion Lenfant-Preus and the Polish guitarist "Sobo" (Alexander Sobocinski) celebrates cultural diversity - not least through songs whose lyrics are sung in eight languages. The musicians feel at home on stage, playing and singing with charm, humor and ease for audiences spanning generations.
