From the heart lushly Brazilian: The formation CriCri Brasil around the Frankfurt musician Christoph Aupperle (vib) consists of outstanding colleagues: Viviane de Farias (voc), Mauro Martins (dr), Dalma Lima (perc), Geovany da Silveira (b) and Julian Keßler (g).
The musicians bring rich experience from previous projects. Of particular note is the duo project "Balakumbala" by Viviane de Farias and Mauro Martins. They experimented with bass and voice and produced a very virtuosic and poetic Afro-Brazilian dialogue.
Aupperle composed and arranged most of the pieces. Because of his ties to Brazil, having lived there as a musician, the pieces are true through all styles - right down to the lyrics: Grammy winner Ivan Santos contributed those. The other musicians have also formed musical elective affinities for many years in
different ensembles.
This promises a very personal melange música popular brasileira (MPB).
The natural lightness of Brazilian rhythms and melodic line are always the focus. However, those who know about the amours between MBP and jazz will not be surprised to hear breezes of jazz here and there - and will appreciate it. So this will be a program of favorites.
And for those who can't get enough of the evening's music, rejoice: a CD will cap off the live concerts and will be available in late 2020.
