On 23. May, the kick-off party at Orange Peel, Kaiserstr. 38, kicks off with a special treat: Lazara "Cachao" López and band.
Pianist Lazara Cachao comes from a famous musical family. Her father Orlando "Cachaito" López became world famous as a bassist and founding member of the Buena Vista Social Club. Her grandfather Orestes López, musician and composer, and her great uncle, composer and bassist Israel "Cachao" López were among the most important instigators of Cuban music and are considered the founders of the mambo ("Goza mi mambo"). Lazara's band includes Juan Bauste, one of the best Cuban percussionists in Germany. Look forward to Son, Salsa, Mambo, Jazz and Jam Sessions!
