Teacher Nani Sapienza dreams of a girl who looks like his deceased daughter. After hearing about the missing Lucia on the radio the morning after, he is convinced that she appeared to him in the dream. After weeks of fruitless searching, the police and parents give up.
Only Nani doesn't stop his obsessive investigation, drawing the suspicions of the small town. And he makes his fourth grade students, who never get enough of their teacher's wondrous tales, think.

Dacia Maraini
Born in Fiesole in 1936, Dacia Maraini is the multi-award-winning grande dame of Italian literature. For almost 20 years, her life partnership lasted with the writer Alberto Moravia, through whom she also met Pier Paolo Pasolini. During the 1970s Maraini joined the Italian women's movement. She wrote novels, poetry, plays, and essays.
