Meeting is a choreographic study that focuses entirely on the essentials. 64 "Drum Tappers", small metronome-like devices that Alisdair Macindoe created especially for the piece, guide the duo through the chaos: strictly counting the beat, pure mathematics seems to determine their actions. But the almost meditative tapping at the beginning is increasingly replaced by a polyphonic buzzing, drumming and ringing. The two human performers succeed here in creating an impressive dialogue between man and machine, in which it remains unclear who is actually moving whom.
