Grammophonesque rattling swing - snotty and musical 1a artfully scraped, creaked, tootled and growled. And in German. This is jazz music again, to which the working class and the cultural elite can get their groove on. Here one remembers what swing should actually be: danceable, straightforward and entertaining.
The new record GASSENHAUER:
The "Dixie Wankers" were a wild collective of Berlin jazz musicians who lived out their passion for Dixieland and swing playing street music. In search of an independent sound, they later formed the WHISKYDENKER. Many of the songs played on the streets at that time can be heard on the new record GASSENHAUER. Marlene Dietrich's "Ich bin von Kopf bis Fuß auf Liebe eingestellt", Zara Leander's "Kann denn Liebe Sünde sein" or "Ich wär so gern wie du" from the Jungelbuch. In addition own compositions like "Gassenhauer", "Grüne Trauben" or "Kater Hilde", which deal with this search for oneself. For "Galgenbruders Lied an Sophie, die Henkersmaid" a text of the poet Christian Morgenstern was set to music.
Naturally, our DJ's are also present and will adequately support the band, so that it will be a great evening again!
The party starts again with 2 parallel running tasters (taster classes): one for people without previous knowledge who would like to get to know swing dancing and one for dancers with solid basic knowledge (requirement: min. 1 year of dance experience).
