Heiner and Heinerin cheer happily. On the last weekend in June, it's that time again: every year, several hundred thousand visitors from near and far follow the call to "Come one, come all!" to indulge in the cheerful goings-on in the city centre around the castle. An attractive Heinerfest ticket brings people from the surrounding area quickly and cheaply to the festival area, where carousels and culinary delights from all over the world entice visitors. Wine lovers will be pleased to know that in addition to the popular wine village on the castle bastion, there is also an idyllic wine garden on the old city wall. On the other hand, the Festhalle Hausmann on the Karolinenplatz has a large beer garden ready for the thirsty Heiner. More than 200 showmen travel from all over Germany, among them many spectacular rides like "Konga" and "Ghost Rider". Five joyful days in the heart of the city, with many new attractions and locations!
While the big Heiners enjoy themselves at the popular HeinerTreff on the east side of the Schlossgraben, the little Heiners can enjoy themselves to their hearts' content at the nostalgic Heinerfest children's festival in the west part. Street theatre and film screenings are just as much a part of the diverse Heinerfest cultural programme as a wide range of sports.
